Hell-O-August!
Eponymous to Caesar, the Great Augustus!
How sweet you were!
Thank you for coming into my life each year,
Though this year with a new surprise!
At times you give me reasons to smile yet uprise!
And the very next moment you get disappeared!
Saying ‘Veni, Vidi, Vici’ “I came, I saw, I conquered”!
From the day one, I was all geared into your prowess,
To celebrate the birthday of my pretty Princess!
Before I could blink, you entered into nineteenth,
Giving me reasons to rollick with joy umpteenth!
When my little baby turned 18, who’s already mature,
Hey August! You were the embodiment of Joy galore!
Though this year I discovered an all new me,
Thank you for filling my spirit with an impish glee!
Good bye August! Come back again!
Till then let me discover my lost old name!

Butifully written as always
And, yes, may this month be as happy and celebratory to you as always…Lots of love to both the princesses!????
Wonderfully written, Sangeeta ji. I used to cherish this month due to the autumn specially, as in our Northern hamlets, the fall is more visible than the urbanized metros…However, this August will be unforgettable due to other reasons like, learning a few new lessons, understanding life waigarah waigarah…So, overall, an instructive month! 🙂
Wonderful! Such a sweet way to express your love!
Best wishes to the pretty girls 🙂

‘Curiouser and curiouser!’, as Alice said!
Even for me this August has lived it up to the revered name of that heathen Augustus Caesar, on whom it has been named. It solved many difficult questions, it reunited me with my lost love, Music! Sangeet!
I don’t love this poem for its contents. I love it for its spirit.
“Thank you for coming in my life each year
Though, this year with a new surprise!”
Can we put this on repeat? Year on year?
‘Curiouser and curiouser!’, Indeed!
Strange but true! This month has always been special for me for the reasons I’ve stated in the poem. And seriously this one was quite special for me as it has blessed me with ‘amour propre’!
I’m so glad that you commented with such a joyous note! And yes! I would always try to put it on a repeat mode! Year on year!
Thank you so much for your invigorating words Rakeshji! Your comments are always the one reason for me to revisit my old posts!
