Her La La Fairyland, #MoreIndianThanYouThink ??

Once upon a time, there lived a little princess in her La La Land??
A dainty demure damsel, yet was daring enough to take a stand
With her enigmatic aura, she strove to paint her world in pink
Cute yet cloddish, she was indeed #MoreIndianThanYouThink 😉

From those cool rompers to flashy dresses to glitzy party frocks,
She denied them all but loved to drape her mom’s saree and rock.
Akin to that drape, she was determined to detangle life’s kinks,
With her distinct flair, she was way #MoreIndianThanYouThink 😉

She idealized *beauty queen* Sushmita Sen, who was then reigning.
By playing Miss Universe in Fancy Dress she continued shinning!
Not because of the title but for the sake of the lady’s link,
She was tenacious to act much #MoreIndianThanYouThink 😉

Amidst those birthday gifts; remote-control toys, play-stations & iPods
The ‘made-for-India Barbie doll’ draped in saree struck her chords
Not ‘Hannah Montana’ but ‘Saas-Bahu soaps’, glued her without a blink
Her anxious mom wondered why she’s born #MoreIndianThanYouThink

Classmates crushed over stars but she planned a whole dream wedding.
Her prince came, riding a horse around a dramatic Bollywood setting!
Pondering over her wuthering imaginations, she’d vehemently wink
A drama queen or a cry baby; she was #MoreIndianThanYouThink 😉

While her roommates tried their hands on those prohibited hard-drinks
Saying ‘Cheers’ she tossed her lassi in a way #MoreIndianThanYouThink

By shunning stereotypes, she set aside her degree of an engineer.
As she wished the world to witness her flare, though being a beginner
Pulling paper, her empowered soul painted her province with her ink
A creative connoisseur,she blogged a career #MoreIndianThanYouThink

All dug in glitz & glam, she scouted saree draping on The Style Symphony
Her symphonies were rooted into the Sargam to beat life’s cacophony.
She wished to encapsulate scattered happiness if she could let it shrink,
Joy clenched in her fist was her longing #MoreIndianThanYouThink

From Samba to Salsa, when world was busy tapping its feet.
She chose to move and shake with ease, onto the desi beats.
Pouring poise & panache into folk, she grooved & twirled with jink.
Dancing on a bhangra number was #MoreIndianThanYouThink

With her ‘zenith’ high spirits, she aspired for those wings to fancy & fly.
Lufthansa endowed the vagabond in her with vivacity of that vast sky.
With a dash of dreams & desires umpteen, she fought to efface all fink.
Though an urban lass, with a rustic heart #MoreIndianThanYouThink 😉

A Chinese cuisine fan, still Aloo paranthas were served in her La La Land
Sharing every bite with her family was glee that made her life grand.
Dying for a dish still giving it to needy; drooling & donating were in sync
Hospitality in her Indian blood like that of Lufthansa, she was #MoreIndianThanYouThink

1 re coin #moreindianthanyouthink

Making this poetic fiction up to the 11th verse has that (+1) factor of auspiciousness in Indian culture. Whenever we gift money on some auspicious occasion, we add a 1 Re coin to the amount (11, 51, 101…) for that good luck which is #MoreIndianThanYouThink 😉

Wonderful presentation, Maitreni. You beautifully knitted the incidences from your life to the theme of #MoreIndianThanYouThink. You look super cute in the first pic holding the telephone. More power to you 🙂

Superb presentation…loved reading this.
by the way, in the beginning it was tough to guess about whom its been written but the fourth pic clearly says about that Girl.
