Happy Birthday to my not-so-grown-up baby Anindhya

happy birthday Anindhya haiku

Yesterday, 19th August, was the 17th birthday of my younger daughter Anindhya. Through this Haiku poem, I am extending my heartfelt birthday wishes to her.

happy birthday Anindhya haiku

The prettiest lass
Who possesses a bright mind,
and is deemed to shine.

The bluestocking belle
Flourishes by leaps and bounds,
yet remains fragile.

Her dauntless spirit,
Which aims to touch skies,
but she stays docile.

Happy birthday to
Anindhya, afar censure,
with the cutest smile.

When she was born, I felt contented as a mother. Though, I became a mother 8 years before Anindhya was born to my elder daughter Maitreni, Anindhya made me a complete mother. I was too young to feel like a deep-dyed mom to Maitreni, so she always remained more of a friend to me and both of us shared all our secrets with each other. When Anindhya was born, I had already turned into a mature woman, ready to take responsibilities and tough enough to face the difficulties of life.  So, Anindhya remained a little baby to me always.

She is more wise, mature and intelligent than other kids of her age, and has always made me proud of her abilities and achievements. She was an extremely beautiful child and was always appreciated for her looks. And I always got scared that this might restrict her mental growth and brains. But, she proved me wrong! Her ‘baby show prizes’ started turning into ‘academic excellence awards’! She has proved that “all the external beauty of her’s is but skin-deep”.

Anindhya Achivements
Then & Now

She has turned 17 and entered into 18th year of maturity and wisdom of her life, what she has acquired quite early already. Unlike her sister, she hardly shares her traumas and problems with me, yet she remains in my heart, protected like an infant, who is fragile, demure, subtle, understated and enigmatic.
