Where lives art?
In a painter’s palette or in a poet’s heart?
Does it dwell in a mother’s cooking and seasonings,
Or, it lies in a bird’s chirping when the day starts?
Today, I’m sharing one of my old poems, written years back, along with a canvas oil painting ‘Bodhisattva’ by my sister Vineeta.
Art is life portrayed over a vivid canvas of desires,
It’s envisioned with a variance, lit with inner fire.
From the incarnations of Lord to nature’s numerous roles,
From enlightening young minds to illuminating old souls.
It’s that spunk towards anything in anyone to create,
The zeal to begin and the interest to initiate.
With fire in eyes, flair in thoughts and a deep desire in heart,
A surge to give life a new start, is the quintessence of art.
