A close friend of mine informed about an interview shoot of Mr. Saif Ali Khan and I was excited to attend it. A prominent media house NDTV was supposed to organize it with the show name Spotlight at Monkey Bar, Bandra, Mumbai on 10th Feb, 2017. I reached the venue before time and interacted with the lovely host there along with my friends.
I love his movie Ta Ra Rum Pum in which he played the lead role of Raj Veer. So I was excited to see him and interact with him for the first time. As he arrived on the sets, he asked with concern to us, the audience members if we were standing for long? We should be sitting as he was. Due to lack of space that wouldn’t be possible, but his graciousness won our hearts.
I didn’t leave the chance to ask him when he would be hosting the Filmfare again. He instantly replied whenever SRK would ask him, in a friendly manner!
That evening I got to acknowledge that he is not just an amazing actor, but a personality with extraordinary experience and knowledge. His interest and finesse in literature are quite exquisite. He warmly interacted with almost everyone in the audience during breaks. His eye-contacts with everyone were genuine. He candidly talked about several topics right from his political opinions to Shakespeare.
He believes in staying away from social media to avoid distractions and unnecessary attention.
He shot for NDTV 24*7 first in English hosted by Aneesha Baig. Later he shot for NDTV India in Hindi hosted by Vikram Thapa. His primary objective was to promote his upcoming movie Rangoon along with candid chat sessions.
Mr. Saif Ali Khan honestly confessed few personal things that you can check on the show itself. One learning take away we youngsters can have from his life approach is never to be distracted by social media and focus on our personal life and work naturally. It is way better to express yourself to your circle of people with mutual respect and understanding than to impress the millions of strangers on social media.
