melancholy

Shraddha erupted into tears holding her new born baby in hands, thinking she was the greatest gift of God to her after that stress and agony of the labor room. Seeing her cry, the nurse smiled and said, “Seems she wished for a boy and is unhappy giving birth to a girl.” Everyone there misunderstood her tears as she was crying recklessly seeing her dejection being rewarded as a daughter to answer back her gender bias surroundings and to prove her worth to the world. 20 years later, Shraddha was smiling today, but not out of happiness but of being deeply hurt and humiliated by her daughter for expecting her to be a pathfinder rather than a commoner.
