Talvar Movie Review: The untold truth !!!

Indian Bloggers

It’s humane to wish and watch the whole world happy yet it’s cathartic to see the mighty fall. That’s why the protagonists in Shakespearean plays reached to a fatal end in the climax (in plays like Othello, Macbeth, Julius Caesar, Romeo & Juliet and many more). But seeing common people suffering on stage or celluloid isn’t a cathartic experience at all for us.

When real life stories are portrayed on screen and we relate them to the original ones it’s really a succumbing feeling. Many such stories have been told earlier on silver screen which depicts real-life incidents in the past. No One Killed Jessica, Haider, Not A Love Story, and numerous other which narrate the real-life incidents on the reel.  The movie Talvar belongs to the similar genre of films which drags us in a debatable murder mystery happened in the part.

The Style Symphony was privileged enough to receive a special entry into the screening of the movie Talvar on 27th September, Sunday at the Delight Cinema private theatre in New Delhi. With a pleasant ambiance and an equally exciting experience, our day was already made and we can’t thank enough to Blogmint for this phenomenal opportunity for Delhi bloggers.

Story line of Talvar

Centered across the most controversial 2008 double murder case which took the entire nation in its grip, Talvar is a quite a sensible content driven film. With such a real and meaningful insight into the case, this thought-provoking thriller has left the audiences with so many perspectives to ponder upon. With a plot that is pretty engaging, Talvar portrays that dimension of the story which is deemed to give you a chill down the spine.

Impact of Talvar—the movie

Much powerful and earthy, Talvar is a heart-wrenching masterpiece that is crafted with a humanizing appeal.  Thanks to Vishal Bhardwaj and Meghna Gulzar for the impeccable story and a flawless direction.

With a direction quite objectively done, Talvar is one such movie that makes the audiences brim with sheer empathy towards its characters without having to judge them. Such powerful is its impact upon the audience that provides a boost to the alternate genre of film leaving your views penetrated.

Actor Performances in Talvar

Irrfan Khan is the gem of an actor who has certainly nailed it this time as well with his unwavering acting skills. With a performance on-screen that never ceases to amaze the audiences, Talvar is yet another feather in the cap for a brilliant actor like him. Nevertheless to mention, the natural performances of Konkona Sen Sharma and Neeraj Kabi were stellar of the star cast. The special appearance of Tabu is another cherry on the cake worth the watch. Furthermore, some unheralded actors like Sumit Gulati have added life to the events.

Key points of Talvar

From the portrayal of the lack of proficiency by the police to the media mash-up to the justice jargon, Meghna Gulzar helms no stones unturned. While the multiple-aspect screenplay by Vishal Bhardwaj gives the movie an all the more broader outlook. The haunting soundtrack and the subtle humor are an added asset of Talvar— the movie! Pragmatic as well as cynical, the film profusely predicates the Rashomon effect while hitting the grey cells of the Indian judiciary system.

Nice to know that it is not a judgmental film. With a stellar cast and mature direction the film seems to have come up well. I missed the chance to go for the screening as I had something lined up in that slot. 🙁

You got me interested here with the take 🙂
We won’t get such opportunities here though; the movie makers here are eternally afraid of what bloggers will say, I believe. They will have problems with opinions, at least most of them and their strange fans won’t agree.

Thanks a bunch Teny. Glad it caught your attention. 🙂
Yes, you’re absolutely right, but gradually the scenario is changing and hope might change there too soon as our opinions should matter. [Provided they aren’t scared of Vampis 😛 #kidding ]
