Ushering the Moon🌛

girl and moon

Indian Bloggers

Today is International Women’s day and being a woman, that too, a mother of two grown-up girls, I wish to express my feelings and concern for all the daughters of India who are trying hard to make their mark in this man’s world. Every girl is an achiever in her special way, but it hurts when she is being stopped in her way to achieve. I wish all the young women and both my daughters the moon of their share.

Happy Women’s Day! 🙂                                                                                                         Happy Women’s Day! 🙂

girl and moon

In the search of solace,

Hovering over distress and disgrace,

I’m trying hard to grasp my nonchalant emotions.

With the void in the air,

And the vacant sky of despair,

I’m looking upright to replenish my lost acclamations.

What if I’m not revered!

My heart is pristine for what you said.

I wish my words to be heard than getting adulations,

I won’t give up!

What if I’m left with a scratched soul,

A stabbed back and some unanswered prayers.

I won’t step back!

So what if I have to fetch the moon,

And snatch the stars for your unstoppable lustre.

    Err, I’m a bit late!

Woman’s Day is long gone and the festivities are over. The flags and buntings are pulled down. The sun is back up in the sky, the snail is on the thorn and the hypocrite world is back on its chauvinism. Now is the time your poem doesn’t only make sense, it also ignites a fire, which propels the loony denizens of this nuthouse towards sensibility.

Loved the hidden fire in it! The ‘Null Desperendum’ spirit! Give ’em hell! Hope that the world doesn’t only wake up one fine morning and hurriedly decide to celebrate womanhood for 24 hours! Wish that they truly appreciate women! Wishing all that, wish you and everyone a Happy Woman’s Day!

On second thoughts, I’m not late. Everyday is a Woman’s Day!

    • Rightly said Rakesh ji. Everyday is Women’s Day, if a woman gets what she deserves — respect in true sense. Your words indeed mean a lot. I’m humbled, so overwhelmed with your discernment and subtlety of thoughts.
Glad that you made it to read my poem.
I agree with you. Wish the day will come when we need not celebrate ‘Women’s Day’ as we never celebrate ‘Men’s Day’. Till then ‘everyday is Women’s Day’ So you are not at all late. 🙂 Thank you so much for your appreciation.

  • Wow so perfect for WD!
    Wishes to you too!

    • Thank you so much Indrani. Every day is a women’s day for us, so happy women’s day to you once again. 🙂

    • So, Mr. Mani is now settled with my softer and lighter words. 🙂 So, from now onwards “Your wish my command”. I’ll surely try to be lighter, less poignant and less pinching. Women’s day is over. 🙂

Thank you so much. Your words (seriously) mean a lot to me. Best criticism, best appreciations come from you. 🙂

  • I wish my words to be heard – so right Sangeeta……The indifferent deafness of the people around hurts….but those who persist win….ans will the women who stand through it all.

    • Thank you so much Sunaina. Truly said. Let’s speak a bit louder to make them hear what we are trying to speak since ages. Wish more power to us. 🙂
