Smiling over gloom
Flowers vanquish morbid thorns
Leaves rhapsodize love!
Euphorbia flowers are paradox. Like life, they bloom amidst obstacles, the thorns. Petite, pretty and profusely pink, these blooms challenge horrid thorns and smile diligently for days.
They adorn the green juicy leaves and scary brazen thorns even when my entire garden is devoid of any other flowers and looks almost deserted with sun-dried leaves losing their lush green hues over withered amber falls.
Life of euphorbia is obscure…they bloom amidst gloom, fated for a life lesser-known. They can endure drought and heat and bloom when all the flora and fauna succumb to autumn.
Autumn, a season like human psyche, subsumes floods in drought. The drought of emotions, love, care and concern, results into an avalanche of tears, the rains.
Like autumn and like us, the cactus plant screams with pain. They burgeon in peppy pink blossoms effusing elegance amidst infernal woeful thorns…then born euphorbia flowers.
Euphorbia reminds me of Him, who taught me how to live life like an œuvre d’art in spite of all odds.
He is (was) my father…
œuvre d’art*: Work of art (French)

Lovely 🙂
Dear Sangeeta ji, I’ve always had deep reverence for all those beings and life forms that not only survive but grow against the odd! Thank you for showing us the mighty spirit of the beautiful Euphorbias. 🙂
Beautifully written. Never saw Euphorbia flower with such meanings, but sometimes different perspective open one’s eyes.
while feeling the pain, the obstacles of thorn, it still blooms in it’s short life to charm it’s admirers :).
keep penning.
