[dropcap]I[/dropcap]ntolerance— the biggest hullabaloo of current times, be it in the political scenario or in the religious arena. Everyone is talking about it, either loving it or hating it, the debate is on! But has anyone ever paid heed to this fanaticism happening in our homes towards women. They have been paying the price for speaking up by their wings chopped and words snatched, all because of domestic violence.
Nightingale is clogged,
Suppressed for her upraised voice
For intolerance.
— Sangeeta
A Haiku is a Japanese poem traditionally comprising of seventeen syllables, in three lines of ‘five’, ‘seven’, and ‘five’, which evokes natural images, now a days referred to as #micropoetry.

Thank you so much Mr. Agarwal. 🙂
I guess, I have read his earlier as well. The Haiku
Well, I’ve shared this Haiku on my Twitter & fb, along with the facebook page of my blog. If you’ve read it somewhere else, please let me know and provide me the link please. 😉
No, I am not aware about either of the three links. I guess I read it on Shweta’s blog: http://www.sunshineandzephyr.com/ but it was something related with Haiku not sure if similar or not and that was long time back.
Oh ! Now I can guess. Seems you are talking about Shweta’s Haiku definition. Her’s and mine could be similar. In fact every one state similar facts in their distinct manner.
An apt haiku on the most relevant topic of out times ! Beautifully put Sangeeta ji 🙂 Refreshing to read you after my long break 🙂
Welcome back on TSS, Kokila. And thank you so much for the appreciation. 🙂
Beautifully expressed. Apt one for the current situation in our country..
Thank you so much for the appreciation, Meera. Yes, indeed it portrays the present situation. 🙂
Very well said Sangeetaji. Its weird that myriad things that are tearing down the fabric of the society are tolerated and there’s furore about things that don’t have much impact.
So very beautifully expressed Mr. Pasha. As usual you have added a deep insight to this issue. Thank you so much. 🙂
Beautiful!
Thank you. 🙂
Apt words for the occasion. Beautifully delivered, Sangeeta Ji 🙂

Intolerance is connected politically or religiously in this country today.
This Haiku brings out pain of a woman which must be understood by all. One shouldn’t make it INTOLERANT for any women..
Hope to peace all around..!
Well written!
Thanks Yogesh. It’s good that you’ve ingested into it. Nice thoughts. Wish peace all around. Amen. 🙂
Tolerance and intolerance are strange words these days, and are used only according to certain categories. Political and religious sides are just parts of it 🙁
Yes, you are right Teny. These words have become too ambiguous and being used to cater certain people’s selfish motives now a days. It’s quite disturbing. 🙁
Powerful…..!

Glad that you find it impressive. Thanks Saru. 🙂
No debates and no conferences will solve the issue of domestic violence. It has to be solved by the victim herself by raising her voice against all fears and odds. Only a human can support for this cause to prevent domestic violence. And a very nice haiku explaining it Sangeetha ji.
Very well said Prasanna. There’s nothing more agonizing than domestic violence. Thank you so much for your kind words. Means a lot when appreciation comes from you. 🙂
