Saint Valentine was imprisoned and tortured years back because he was a rebel. A rebel, who brought new wave of love in the lives of many soldiers who were kept deprived of marriage and love. He fought for their rights and made the rulers bend in front of the power of love. Valentine’s day named after him was being celebrated after that as a day of liberation.
Since then, Valentine’s Day is celebrated with the peppy color red, which is considered the color of rebellion, anger and danger. But simultaneously, it’s the color of love, passion, energy and warmth too. That’s the reason why red is being worn on V-day or any other day which is associated with love and prosperity (be it our Indian weddings or festivals).
Our #OOTD is all about celebrating Valentine’s Day with a lively, vibrant and peppy ethnic look of love which comprises of a head to toe red attire. It’s a georgette SKD set perfectly stitched with a voluptuous fit, voluminous flair and crafted with a mix of diaphanous fabrics like georgette and chiffon. It is beautifully embroidered with antique gold jardozi & dabka work along the neckline (a detailed embellished yoke) along with brocade gota patti all over the hemline.
Red, being the color of love, is the most warm and evocative hue. So, adorning a head-to-toe red outfit sometimes looks quite bizarre if not planned well. Here, The Style Symphony brings to you some peppy style tips about how to wear red right without looking garish and over-the-top.
-
Avoid red in your makeup!
If you are planning a peppy ethnic V-day look in all red, wearing a scarlet hot red pout is a strict no-no. Rather, wear subtle lip colors in warm peach with metallic-gold notes or a soft nude color in matte finish. Similarly, avoid red in eye-shadows and blush, instead go for smoky eyes with peppy gold or silver highlights and a peach-ish rust blush. Natural or soft-brown nails would be a win-win situation.
-
Go minimalistic with jewellery!
Red calls for festivity, but too much of gaudy elements kill its beauty. So, opt for tiny trinkets or small pieces of jewellery instead of heavy sets. Delicate enameled earrings or a pair of peppy jhumkis would surely add adequate charm to your ethnic attire. A statement kundan ring with red phuai-work has added the perfect dose of traditional charm to the outfit. And don’t you miss a heart shaped diamond pendant for that peppy look of love— with the V-day element. Did you miss the beautiful gold bangle with ras-rava work— do have a look!
-
Sport sombre accessories!
For a peppy ethnic V-day ensemble, you needn’t look too traditional but rather opt for some casual chic charm too. So, avoid those embellished mojaris or embroidered clutch bags or else you would end up looking like a Christmas tree than a peppy V-day princess. Do pick a pair of nude pumps or stilettos instead of gold or red and be rest assured that your bag (clutch or sling) should compliment it.
So Symphonites, go ethnic this Valentine’s with ravishing red and gleaming gold and adorn a look that is peppy yet stylish, subtle yet bold. Bedeck yourself with the look of love, The Style Symphony way!
