A Sabyasachi saree is indeed every girl’s obsession! I’ve grown up seeing Bollywood divas like Sri Devi, Madhuri Dixit, Bipasha Basu, Vidya Balan, Anushka Sharma and many more in Sabya creations. Though, wearing a saree at all situations is not my cup of tea as no girl would like to add that monotonous mood to her looks. But as I like to go out of the box to experiment with my looks, I like to wear a saree as I like it! Yes, in unusual draping styles with not-so-adequate accessories on not-as-expected situations.

Earrings: Kim’s Jewellery
Saree: Soch Studio
Bangles: Colaba Causeway, Mumbai
Leggings: W for Woman
Peep-toes: Catwalk
Brocade Jacket: Designed, stitched & hand-painted by Mom
In my pictures I’ve draped a Sabyasachi look-a-like piece (wish I could experience the real fun with the real creation some day) along with a gold jacket, statement earrings and a handful of chunky bangles. Instead of a petticoat, I have draped it over a pair of leggings to cut the volume around my waistline and enhance the oomph. The blouse is replaced with a gold brocade jacket and the sandals are taken over with block-heeled peep-toes.
Rather than keeping the hemline of the saree up to the toe (as a saree is usually tied), I’ve kept the length of the drape till the mid-calf only so that the flair looks like that of an Anarkali kurta worn over a churidar. Even the pallu is draped like a dupatta around my neck or over my right shoulder.
I’ve planned to don this outfit for my office party where everyone would be expected in cute little numbers. Wish my silhouette could grab all attentions on that out-of-the-ordinary situation where one can flaunt a saree…
Draping a saree in a different manner was quite a fun but what I realized during the process was that I should loose few more kilos to look more sassy and sensuous in a saree. What else than a Special K breakfast one could opt to get that desired body shape and weight! Yes, indeed I’m on a Special K morning meal for last 6 months and reduced about 6 Kgs. My next target is to achieve a-la-less 5 more Kgs from what I am today. 🙂 I really wanna feel #SpecialWithSabya and own the beauty— a special Sabyasachi saree to rub shoulders with my fav Bollywood divas. <3

Wow what a nice unusual way to drape saree with a jacket. The bangles gel well. Are you wearing it with a churidar?
