Hola fashionistas! The Style Symphony is glad to share our experience of the Spring Summer 2016 Collection launch by none other than the esteemed female clothing brand W for Woman. Selected bloggers from Delhi got the golden chance to attend #theunusualsmeet at the W showroom in Select Citywalk on 20th Februray, 2016. It was quite a fun-filled afternoon that began with the W in-house designers introducing us to the inspiration behind the entire unusuals range of W attires.
From the quirky elements of ‘Karkhana’ to the geometrical prints of ‘Tangram’ to the floral fiesta of ‘Scanned’ to the evocative landscapes of ‘Edo’ to the contemporary ‘Classics’ range, the #unusuals collection of W has a multitude of provocative chic options to choose from. The best part is that this time W has come up with a diversified range of clothing in terms of colors, patterns, cuts and fabrics to suit the sensibilities of the modern Indian woman.
The #unusuals range from W for Woman is a new wave in the fashion scenario where you can find silhouettes that are wearable and comfortable in terms of functionality as well as experimental and chic in terms of fashion. Their range includes floor length Stiletto Kurtas, tapered cigarette pants and culottes, layering with Gilets of varied lengths, Geo-Matrix collection with bold and geometric prints and Artsy from their Wishful collection amalgamating the art along with wearable fashion.
The newest stilettos kurtas are designed to suit the body, mind and mood of an Indian woman who wants to break cliché of lengths in kurtas and craves for an outfit that compliments her Indian sensibility with an International appeal. This is the best range of fusion wear The Style Symphony could find by any other brand till date.
Moreover, there were even some interesting activities that were meant to engage the bloggers out there including me. We were assigned the task of creating one look picking a kurta from the #unusuals collection along with W accessories. And an internal jury was supposed to choose the best compiled look as the winner. Though I couldn’t make it as the winner for it was quite a tough call making the decision amongst equally chic and challenging looks by all the fellow bloggers, here’s what I created through the #unusuals range.
I was so very excited to try the ‘Kuletto’ (The Stiletto kurtas) from their #unusual range so I planned a layered look out of a solid black sleeveless kurta from the Classic collection along with a hip-length multicolored Gilet from Scanned collection. For bottom wear I opted for a pair of cropped pants in solid teal green hue. But how could I miss the accessorization part without adding a statement neckpiece in silver finish. It perfectly complimented my solitaire studs and platinum-diamond ring. And the cherry on the cake was my own satchel bag from W itself in monochrome and beige which jelled-well with the whole layered look.
Also, then there was a video bite session created for every blogger speaking few lines on her look as well as her take on the #unusuals collection. This was followed by a little brain-test about the brand W and a mood board where we created doodles out of whatever we felt was unusual. The afternoon ended up with sumptuous snacks and drinks for the bloggers.
We loved interacting with each other as well as with Ms. Aarti Ahuja, the founder of W for woman who’s gracing the venue pepped up the event all the more. Every blogger was given a lovely goody bag at the end as we bid-adieu to each other. It was indeed an unusual event with usual people from where all of us imbibed to follow the trends that are Unseen Undone in quite an Unusual manner. 🙂
