***********
She was nameless, faceless, up in the air
Now, known for the stabs she faced
Ah! Each time she just had to meet
The very same hapless fate!
Diminished to a rumpled, pulpy mass,
Smashed and crushed to the dust,
Man O’ Man! Why maligned, already
disheveled from core to crust?
Neither she’s the sparkling Damini
nor Nirbhaya, the fearless dame,
Her true self sank under conundrums
Dare not you know her name !
Dare not ask by whom she was torn?
Time n again she’s besmirched
Her carcass won’t pay you a score
Let her be stone dried, parched.
She’s yet unarmed though eons passed
She’s not brave enough to gaze
Why so easily she’s being squashed
Can’t she decipher their maze?
Why’s she compelled to lay in the grave ?
Why is she being transfixed ?
It’s time we hide our maligned faces
Look where we all have reached?
She can! Yes she can sooth her wounds
The Emollients all she needs !
It’s time we teach our boys to feel
Their mothers have the same bodies!

After Nirbhaya, Damini, the pseudonymous Delhi girl …. Priyanka Reddy, the Doctor from Bangalore and need not to mention, many nameless, faceless identities in between…here comes another news maker…the rumpled nameless girl from Hathras who was Besmirched, abused, assaulted and then ruined to ashes…
Do I need to write time and again with arid eyes? Aren’t we failing in saving girls and raising boys? What do I do? I too have daughters!
