Her heart was made of resin,
’twas clear, fashioned easily…
She revived and restored it
after every hurt and aversion,
but it retained those imprints…
….forever…
It pretended to be relentless but
died from within after each stigma…
Every time…
its resilience made it more frangible
for people to wield it.
People around her were happy…
as she wept for their grin!
She possessed a Cancer heart,
like that of a ‘Hermit Crab’…,
a heart which forgives
…but never forgets…
A Hermit crab always craves for a shell it never owned. So, it leans on salvaged empty sea-shells, carried by the waves. At times, the crab takes shelter in hollow wooden bars, forsaken skulls, sunken stones and even in empty glass bottles drifted futile by the sea. Just to protect its mushy core, it adapts isolation, that’s why called a Hermit. A true Cancer heart is like that… , pure and obscure, soft and palpable but obstinate enough for its survival..that’s why it opts for a snaffled shell… co’z a Cancer heart forgives, but never forgets, regardless of its being fated to be a recluse.

Nice poem. A heart which forgives but does not forget will still hold the pains…
Very nice poem, did not have much knowledge about hermit crab, an interesting read,by the way, my zodiac is cancer and it has been really impossible for me to forget those which i should have forgotten much earlier.
