Just like the Tata Tiago (named Tata Zica then) launch in Goa, I was one among the 60 lucky bloggers from all over India this time too, who was invited by Indiblogger to witness the launch of the Hexa, Tata Motors’ upcoming SUV. All of us were provided accommodation in the Novotel Hotel, Hyderabad where our agenda was brimming with a heap of exciting activities distributed over the 2 days.
#HexaExperience
All the blogger teams flagged off from the hotel in the morning itself in the manual transmission cars and returned by noon in the automatic ones. After we were back, we were also made to experience a thrilling 20 minutes off-road drive with the Hill-Hold and Hill-Descent Control. From the potholes and slopes to the ice-covered paths to uphill and downhill to acceleration, panic breaking and what not, this concluding #HexaExperience was absolutely the icing on the cake.
Our team comprising of Ami Bhatt, Rajiv Verma and me, had a complete blast during the entire drive, to and fro. Having been lead by Rajiv during the Goa test-drive too, my #HexaExperience turned all the more happening with a fellow blogger, a fantastic driver and a fab companion yet again. Right from the high-end presentation of the car to the interactive get-together with renowned bloggers of the country to a long drive in the beauty across numerous terrain conditions of the city, the 2 day #HexaExperience in Hyderabad was indeed a fun-filled journey that will be cherished for a lifetime. 🙂
TATA HEXA REVIEW
TSS falling in the fashion and lifestyle domain, our review pertains to my personal opinion having closely monitored the car during my #HexaExperience, irrespective of what the journos and experts in the automobile industry have to say.
Having already garnered optimum admiration from the bloggers out there, this 4X4 SUV (also referred by some as an MPV) is indeed a show-stealer on the roads. A game changing concept by Tata, Hexa happens to be submissive to its three key characteristics— Power Packed, Feature Loaded and Adrenaline Pumping Vehicle.
Deadly Design
1. Exterior:
The Hexa boasts a power-packed design that compliments its aplomb on the roads. The frontal design is quite huge in its length, width and height along with 19’ alloy wheels that definitely suit the aggression. The expertise of Tata in creating their signature mesh grille in the front along with an improvised floating roof and an uber- classy finish adds to its provocative looks. How the beast walks with confidence could be seen with its rough and tough alloy wheels. The 4X4 SUV sucks the hurdles seamlessly while off-roads with a ground clearance of up to to 200mm which is worth keeping in mind while buying for people using their cars on remote areas and bumpy Indian roads.

2. Interior:
Topped with a plusher cabin that is designed with premium material, the interior is much mesmerizing. The internal cabin is dual toned and attributes to few brushed metallic accents. And, with a signature design, the steering wheel features multi-functional switches. There a massive front central console which is topped with an infotainment system, an AC unit and similar other interesting inputs. Moreover, the glossy black adds to the classy appeal. Hexa has altogether six quality seating options (fabric upholstery) with captain seats in the first and second row and bench seat in the third row.
Terrific Technology
Acceleration & Pick-Up
With the astounding output figures and enhanced transmission, Tata hexa is deemed to hit a top speed in the approximate range of 195 Kmph. Similarly, it is expected to slash the 100 Kmph mark in merely 8 to 10 seconds. And that’s what’s expected from a beast of Tata, isn’t it?
Engine & Performance
This vehicle is fitted with a 2.2-litre Varicor diesel engine which is a 4-cylinder mill based on DOHC configuration and is integrated with a turbocharger. Hexa attributes to a displacement capacity of 2179cc along with a common rail fuel injection technology with improved power output. This hexa engine is designed to deliver a power of 154bhp apart from a commanding torque of 400Nm. Moreover, this engine is housed with a six speed manual transmission along with an automatic gearbox.
Mileage
The gigantic engine of Hexa is 2.2-litre diesel mill which induces its competency in terms of power and fuel efficiency which delivers a whopping mileage in the range of 17 to 20 Kmpl.
