Style is an inseparable part of a woman’s life. It reflects in her attitude and personality! That’s why she incorporates style in all her walks of life, be it, her home, workplace, outfit, food or any other aspect. Call her a fashionista, she will smile, but if you call her a style-icon she’ll make you smile. So when it comes to revamping her lifestyle, her car comes the first which adds to her flaunt factor. And what could be better than getting to hands-on a fashion-oriented car designed to suit the style sensibility of modern Indian women. Well with dollops of style, the Tigor is definitely a fashionista’s paradise!
After witnessing the launch of Nano in Ahmedabad, Tiago (then Zica) in Goa, Hexa in Hyderabad, The Style Symphony can proudly proclaim the propensity of Tata Motors to ooze out sheer grandeur every time during the onset of their new innovation. But Tigor was not just about grandeur but style at par! 😀
We were invited to attend the launch of Tata Tigor, the newest #styleback car by Tata Motors on 18th & 19th March in Delhi. Regardless to say, it was one of the proudest moment for us to be selected among the 30 lucky bloggers in India to be part of the #Tigorstyleback event and even the most fortunate ones to have the first glance of the Tigor.
All the bloggers landed in the capital city in the afternoon followed by which we were escorted to 1AQ right from the airport to experience the Tigor styleback media drive. As expected the #TigorStyleback was seen right at the venue making a stylish appearance at the Media Drive. While we were busy striking a pose and keeping it stylish, Tata Tigor was indeed a shutterbug’s delight. The ambiance was brimming with razzmatazz watching the Urban Expressions drop a stylish beat at the #TigorStyleback Drive. From the first stroke, to the completed colourful masterpiece, the graffiti wall at the #TigorStyleback Drive was seen come alive.
Styleback is an element of fashion which talks about style and that’s what Tata Tigor represents. Keeping the ethos in mind, what was super innovative and totally out-of-the-box concept about the drive was the Styleback studio. It not only offered a personalized perfumologist with persona inspired fragrances for the guests, but also a variety of styling experiences especially curated for the bloggers out there.
From lady classic to retro-chic for girls and from hipster to dapper to smart casuals for guys, we had a plethora of looks to adorn for a complete makeover and to keep it stylish. And the cherry on the cake were the culinary and coffee experiences created with the #TigorStyleback in mind and the food talk served up a delicious spread to savour.
After a super exciting and fun-filled afternoon at 1AQ, situated in Mehrauli (the heart of the heritage area) we were ushered to the plush Hyatt Andaz (a luxury hotel located in Aerocity) to relax and revive for the next media session in the Ballroom where the vehicle was about to unveiled. With a detailed presentation and briefing of the car, division into driving groups, a musical cocktail evening and a sumptuous dinner, the night in Andaz ended up on a flamoboyant note with another zealous day ahead with Tigor.
The 19th morning in Andaz kicked off with a quick breakfast and check-out! Smiling, revved up and ready, we were all set to get behind the wheel of the Tata Tigor and lead the mean machine out on the roads. Pratap Bose, Ravindra Jain and Ashish Sahni flagged off the #TigorStyleback Drive and our team D1 drove towards the next stop to the Heritage Transport Museum. The picturesque routes of the Delhi-Gurugram roads didn’t cease to amaze us and we couldn’t resist our temptation of stopping midway and posing with the posh Tigor.
While we eyed on that intriguing galore of vintage cars, the picture perfect Style Icon of 2017, Tigor made a style statement at the Heritage Transport Museum. Thereafter, enjoying an exotic drive on the city streets, we drove back to the hotel, had a delectable luncheon, gave our feedback and bytes and headed back home. Packed with optimum fun, style, attitude and glamour which the Tigor is all about, the Styleback Media and Blogger Drives was indeed and unforgettable experience that The Style Symphony is gonna cherish for a lifetime.
TSS’s take on Tata Tigor
Highlights!
- Newest model to arrive from the automaker’s IMPACT design language
- Boasts both petrol and diesel engine, 5 speed manual gearbox
- Excellent exterior design and feature packed interiors
- Great balance between ride and handling; gets 15 inch wheels
Design & Features
Tigor’s underpinnings are shared with the Tiago which even includes the styling. The front design strikingly replicates to the hatchback while the rear has been designed for a notchback look. Tigor though boasts a much better front grille with hexagonal design elements and a twin barrel headlamp with a projector low beams and halogen high beams. From the high mounted subtle roof spoiler that glows end to end to the one popping out of the boot structure in a three dimensional way, the built-in tail lamps of Tigor are a sheer delight. The rear bumper too has a huge chunk of plastic that gives it a sportier edge.

The interiors are also quite similar to the Tiago with a bit of mild tweaks made. With respect to features, Tata has loaded the Tigor with tech specifications like a 2-DIN infotainment system, Bluetooth, USB, Aux-In, etc. With ample legroom at the rear, the Tigor’s seat is just about wide enough to fit three passengers, thanks to the scooped out door panels! Also, Tigor is attributed to both the driving modes, City & Eco. Transmission options include the 5-speed manual paired with both engine options. Some of the other impressive features of the Tigor include the alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, the clutch-lock system along with the fancy fog lamps and the rear defogger.

Performance
Ride quality is magnificent in the Tigor as the vehicle manages to make up for the undulations as the suspension does a fairly good job on the treacherous Indian roads without much complaint. The Tigor gets along the standard Anti Lock Brakes (ABS) with impressive braking. Both the petrol and the diesel variants feel very confident while braking hard and the brake feedback is ideal even under the urban driving conditions. Tigor feels immensely planted and stable at higher speeds. The electric power steering is light enough to manoeuvre around narrow lanes and tight parking spots and weighs up sufficiently at high speeds. And while talking about the safety fronts, the Tigor also has dual airbags to offer as a part of standard equipment.
Final Verdict!
Amongst all the previous brethren of the sub-4 metre compact sedan segment, Tigor is certainly Tata’s best offering yet. Engineered with precision, the best thing about the vehicle is its design mechanism which evidently proves that they have not taken any shortcuts this time. What is actually commendable is that Tata Motors walks an extra mile this time thereby giving it neat touches like – the smoked projector headlamps, the intricate detailing on the LED tail lamps, the ‘Styleback’ shape of the car, the diamond cut alloy wheels and much more. Tigor not only looks good but offers extreme practicality while getting all the bases covered. Well equipped and spacious, the peppy Tigor is definitely a power-packed subcompact sedan that satiates the style needs of the women on-the-move all-the-way on-the-go!
